6 Secrets of the Very Fit

If you interview a group of exceptionally fit people, you’ll notice that they all share the following six characteristics in common:

1. A Balanced Diet

If you ask highly fit people how they train, you’ll find that they listen to their bodies when it comes to deciding what to eat. They’ve figured out what makes them feel good, what keeps them full between meals, and what foods provide them the energy they need to get through tough workouts over time.

One thing you’ll notice is that they don’t discuss – at least not seriously – the latest diet craze. Why? Because they already know what works for them, they see no reason to try something new — at least not on their bodies.

2. They Workout

If you despise working out, you will never be in good shape. Exercising and eating well are two essential components for anyone who want to get and stay in shape. Like a hand and glove, black and white, and so on, they are inseparable.

So, if what you’re doing in the gym or at home doesn’t thrill you, it’s time to branch out and try different types of exercise until you find something you enjoy.

3. They Take Care of Their Well-Being

Fit people prioritize their food and exercise above all else. So be it if that means getting up 30 minutes earlier to squeeze in an HIIT session before heading to work. If it means eating your healthy lunch from home while your coworkers eat cafeteria food, then so be it — it’s their loss.

4. They Get a Good Night’s Sleep

One of the most undervalued aspects of fitness is sleep. It is critical to acquire adequate sleep in order to become incredibly fit.

Your body is busy healing itself as you sleep. You’ll be healthier, happier, and more fit if you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

5. They associate with others who are similar to them.

You won’t see really fit folks hanging out with buddies who are constantly ordering fast food, eating donuts, and watching TV on their couch.

However, you’ll find them among those who enjoy healthy cooking or participating in organized bike rides or runs.

6. They’re Constantly Active

Extremely fit people are constantly on the lookout for new methods to keep active. While they incorporate exercise into their daily routine, they also choose additional calorie-burning and muscle-building activities such as walking or using the stairs.

If you accomplish these six things, you can begin your journey to being a physically healthy person. What have you got to lose?
